Comprehensive Supplemental Coverage Designed to Protect Employees

TSG’s Supplemental Benefit Program provides employers with a cost-neutral way to enhance their healthcare offerings while giving employees meaningful financial protection during medical events.

Our fully insured supplemental plans include a hospital inpatient indemnity benefit that pays up to $1,000 per day for up to 30 days of hospitalization for the employee and their immediate family members. These funds can be used to cover deductibles, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket costs that remain after the major medical plan pays its portion. Employees may also use the benefit to help manage everyday living expenses while they or a family member are hospitalized.

Beyond inpatient coverage, these plans also help cover emergency room and ambulance deductibles and coinsurance, reducing the financial impact of unexpected medical situations.

A Cost-Neutral Solution

One of the most powerful advantages of this program is that it comes at no cost for both the employer and the employee. When employees enroll, they become eligible for a federal program that allows the employer to retain the FICA tax savings associated with enrolled employees. Employers can then use these savings to fully fund the supplemental policy premiums.

Employees also benefit directly by experiencing a net increase in take-home pay, as they avoid paying their portion of FICA tax on the amount used to fund the benefit.
